Awareness creation program was organized for Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers

An awareness creation program was organized for #Parkinson‘s patients and their caregivers by the #Parkinson_Patient_Support_Organization_Ethiopia.

The program, conducted by neurologist Dr. Tesfaye, provided insights into the general nature of the disease and outlined essential activities for patients.

Over 40 #Parkinson‘s patients attended the program, engaging in discussions on issues related to the disease. Dr. Tesfaye addressed their concerns, and participants found the program valuable in meeting their needs. Several patients shared personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of such #awareness initiatives.

In addition to discussions, training sessions were conducted for patients and caregivers. Mrs. Tsion, the health officer of #Parkinson‘s Patient Support Organization Ethiopia, stressed the significance of ensuring that caregivers and family members possess a sufficient understanding of the disease. She highlighted their crucial role in overcoming the challenges posed by Parkinson’s disease.

Mrs. Yabsera Zelalem, the project coordinator of the organization, announced plans to strengthen the #awareness program, making it accessible to all registered members of the organization. The aim is to provide ongoing support and #education to individuals affected by #Parkinson‘s, fostering a better understanding of the disease within the community.
