Reaching the Unreachable: Restoring Dignity for Parkinson’s Patients in Rural Ethiopia

Essential healthcare and shelter should never be out of reach. In rural communities across the Kambata Zone, individuals living with Parkinson’s disease face steep challenges—often battling severe illness without medication, shelter, or proper support systems.

To tackle this, PPSEO, in partnership with Rotaract clubs, constructed a new home for a family in urgent need.

Meet Mr. Gemechu Deboch: A former farmer and father of five, Mr. Gemechu was battling Parkinson’s disease without treatment, surviving in a tiny, makeshift enclosure. Today, thanks to this collaborative effort, Mr. Gemechu and his family have a safe, secure, and dignified place to live.
