Free Screening and Treatment for Parkinson’s Patients on World Physiotherapy Day
Addis Ababa, September 8, 2025 — To mark World Physiotherapy Day, the Ethiopian Physiotherapists Association, in collaboration with the Parkinson’s Patients Support Organization Ethiopia, provided free screening and treatment services to 100 Parkinson’s patients.
During the event, association members assessed patients’ risk levels for falls and offered consultations along with appropriate treatment. The president of the association, Johanna Giovannie emphasized that physiotherapy plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She added that the association’s volunteers are committed to continuing their support through professional care and expertise.
Despite the limited number of physiotherapy specialists in Ethiopia, they remain actively engaged in charitable initiatives, contributing their skills to serve and support the community.

ጳጉሜን 03 ቀን 2017 አም አዲስ አበባ፣ የኢትዮጵያ ፊዚዮቴራፒስቶች ማህበር የዓለም ፊዚዮቴራፒ ቀንን ምክንያት በማድረግ ከፓርኪንሰንስ ፔሸንትስ ሰፖርት ኦርጋናይዜሽን ኢትዮጵያ ጋር በመተባበር በዛሬው እለት ለ100 ህሙማን ነጻ የምርመራ እና ህክምና አገልግሎት ሰጥተዋል። የማህበሩ አባላት በተለይም የፓርኪንሰን ህሙማን ለመውደቅ አደጋ ያላቸውን የተጋላጭነት ደረጃ በመለየት አስፈላጊውን የምክክርና የህክምና አገልግሎት ሰጥተዋል። በተጨማሪም የፊዚዮቴራፒ ህክምና ለፓርኪንሰን ህሙማን ያለው ፋይዳ ከፍተኛ በመሆኑ የበጎ ፍቃደኞቹ በቀጣይነትም በሞያቸው ህሙማኑን ለመርዳት ቁርጠኛ መሆናቸን የማህበሩ ፕሬዝደንት ዮሃና ጆቫኒ ገልጻለች። በኢትዮጵያ የፊዚዮቴራፒ ባለሞያዎች ቁጥር ውስን ቢሆንም በየጊዜው በተለያዩ የበጎ ስራዎች ላይ እየተሳተፉ ማህበረሰቡን በማገልግል ላይ ይገኛሉ።
