Position Title: Project Nurse / Health Officer

Reports To: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Number Required: 1 (One)
Onsite: Full-time
Qualifications:
• BSc in Nursing/Health Officer
• One to three years of relevant experience
• Highly motivated and skilled applicants with zero years of experience are encouraged to apply
• Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English
• NGO experience is advantageous
• Basic computer skills are a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Implementation:
• Collaborate with the project team to plan and implement healthcare initiatives for Parkinson patients.
• Ensure alignment of healthcare strategies with the organization’s overall goals.
2. Patient Care and Support:
• Provide specialized nursing care for Parkinson patients, including symptom management, medication administration, and emotional support.
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor patients’ health status and adjust care plans as needed.
3. Training and Capacity Building:
• Train caregivers and volunteers on Parkinson’s disease, specialized nursing care, and best practices in patient support.
• Build the capacity of the team to provide high-quality care to Parkinson patients.
4. Collaboration and Networking:
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, NGOs, and relevant stakeholders to enhance the support network for Parkinson patients.
• Attend and represent the organization at relevant healthcare forums and conferences.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports.
• Provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator on project activities, challenges, and achievements.
6. Advocacy and Education:
• Advocate for the needs of Parkinson patients within the healthcare system.
• Engage in educational campaigns to dispel myths and increase understanding of Parkinson’s disease.
